Street Food of Bali

Like most Southeast Asian countries, Indonesia is proud of the vibrant street food culture. Growing out of necessity, provides roadside stalls selling everything from a busy road Indonesians quick snack to a satisfying meal cheap and convenient. Across Indonesia's many islands and provinces, you can expect to find on the roadside vendors, locally known as warungs, all over the place dishing out sumptuous home cooking. The warungs the Indonesian island of Bali province has always been not only among the locals, but also increasingly popular for tourists.

Bali's warungs have received a boost in recent years by featured celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain in Globetrotter's popular travel show No Reservations. Famous for waiver fussy, pretentious hotel meals for simple and honest local cuisine, Mr. Bourdain has his enthusiastic seal of approval given to the venerable Warung Bali. One such example is located in the vicinity of Naughty Nuri Ubud in central Bali. Not the typical Warung Naughty Nuri is famous for its traditional Balinese grilled dishes as well as tourist friendly Martinis and sashimi specials.

Most warungs specialize in only one type of shell, and they do it very well. Another Warung made popular by Bourdain, Ibu Oka is the perfect example of this. Ibu Oka is known far and wide for their delicious tender pork roast stuffed with a secret blend of Balinese spices and spit over an open fire while basted with coconut milk. Nestled near the beach in a picturesque fishing village on the east coast of Bali, is a meta Sari tiny warung for a delicious sweet-spicy minced fish satay locally known as sate Lilit Ikan known. Like the food, the settings of the warungs plain and simple - if any of the rickety tables and thatched roofs, an essential component of an authentic Balinese Street Food is experience.

Visitors to the Indonesian island of Bali Paradise rob to make a treatment if they never eat one attempt at a genuine Warung. Where else can a good meal in an unforgettable setting for a few dollars?
